Authorpreneurs Deliver Talk at Shrewsbury Public Library

Written By: David T. Lee - Nov• 19•17

Last Thursday, my sister, my father and I were invited to speak from 6:30-8 PM at the 3rd anniversary Krosslink event in the Shrewsbury Public Library. Krosslink is a program created by Venkat Kolluri to promote entrepreneurship at public libraries. Our event was labeled “Authorpreneurs’ Talk” and we talked about how we wrote and published our books. We also delved into the benefits and risks of traditional/self-publishing and print/e-books. Among the audience were business leaders, accountants and even two young writers!

Most of the audience came to seek publishing advice for books they were writing themselves. Everyone enjoyed our presentation and asked tons of questions, sparking a large discussion about book publishing. We had a wonderful time and even sold 3 books afterwards!

Special thanks to Priya Rathnam, assistant director of the library, for inviting us to speak (and gifting us with a book “The Startup Equation – A Visual Guidebook for Building Your Startup, By Steven Fisher and Ja-Nae’ Duane”) and Venkat for organizing this event and providing refreshments!

Here are the photos PLUS the slides we used for our talk.
