I met Ted Reinstein, reporter for Boston’s TV news magazine Chronicle!

On Tuesday, October 22, 2013, I visited the Shrewsbury Public Library to attend an exclusive event from the reporter of the Boston’s celebrated nightly news magazine, Chronicle. His name is Ted Reinstein, and his event was about promoting his first book, New England Notebook: One Reporter, Six States, Uncommon Stories.

One of the stories he shared, in his book, is about the famous New Bedford construction chief Lynn Donohue, who began as a humble bricklayer and later started one of the best construction companies in Massachusetts. She treated her workers very well and cared for their personal situations. She also founded the Brick by Brick Foundation to help at-risk teens in Greater New Bedford with career counseling. Lynn is the most inspirational woman Ted had ever met. Other things he wrote about New England are his favorite places to visit in New England, great historic attractions and his favorite restaurants.

These are the questions I asked Ted: Did ABC or Chronicle collaborate in any way with your book? How long did it take to create the book, from the minute you dreamed of it to the final product shining on the shelf? His answers were that he wrote his book all by himself. Chronicle gave him special permission to access the photos. It took him one year to finish the book following the publishing contract and process. He is currently working on his second book.

In my opinion, Ted is a wonderful presenter, explaining details in his book with elaborate words and comprehending questions carefully, answering them clearly.

Many people purchased Ted’s book during the event.
